Benjamin Sahr was born Dec. 22, 1890, in Fargo, N.D., the son of Rev. F. and Anna Regina (Reinking) Sahr. He attended LeSeuer high school and University of Minnesota and was graduated from Northwestern Dental college in 1913.
He was a resident of Hutchinson since 1914 where he was a dentist until May 1949 before retiring because of his health. He was a member of the school board and Congregational church in Hutchinson.
He was a life member of Minneapolis District Dental Society. Minnesota State Dental Society, American Dental Association and Tri-county Dental Association. On June 5, 1920, he was married to Maxine Elliott in St. Paul by the Rev. George Bailinger. She survives him along with three daughters, Mrs. Stanley W. (Anne) Ball of Rochester, N.Y., Mrs. Robert J. (Adah) Loe of Erlangen, Germany, and Mrs. Dean F. (Mary) Cress of Milwaukee, Wis.; one son Benjamin E. Sahr of Chicago, Ill., sisters Mrs. A. L. (Rose) Kusske of New Ulm, Mrs. George Zieske of Rialto, Calif., and Mrs. Carl (Lucille) Schmidt of San Bernandino, Calif., and 12 grandchildren. Two brothers, Dr. Willard L. Sahr and Dr. Walter G. Sahr and two sisters, Mrs. John (Lillian) Zeglin and Mrs. Charles (Emma) Becklund preceded him in death.
Interment was in Oakland cemetery.
