GAHL
I am seeking information about Wilhelm GAHL who settled in Winsted around 1875 and worked as a cabinetmaker. He apparently immigrated in 1873 with wife Ida, and sons Augustus, Adolph and Theodore from Dobrzyca, Posen (Prussia). Is it likely that others from Dobrzyca preceeded or followed him to the Winsted area. Their 16 year old son, Paul Reinhold GAHL, settled in Chicago and I am one of the great grandchildren of Paul Reinhold and thus a great, great grandson of Wilhelm.

ZIESKE
I am looking for more ZIESKE information (William and Wilhelmina). Allison posted in 1997, but her e-mail address no longer is correct. I would like to find out from Allison what is known of the ZIESKES, especially their origins (Wilhelm). Was it Putzig, Posen, as is true for other ZIESKES in Minnesota? Allison said William was born in 1831. What is the source for that year? That would agree with one Wilhelm ZIESKE born at Putzig in 1831. But census records vary in his estimated birth year based on age, as late as 1835. I am related in that a great-aunt Rose Wiewel married Howard ZIESKE. Wilhelm and Wilhelmine, Rose and Howard all died in Douglas County. Thanks for any good information or comments.

KLABUNDE
Looking for Johann & Ida KLABUNDE family
Ivan Klabunde kubbyk59@meltel.net ,  Nov 2, 2009

LAMBERT
LAMBERT and KEENAN I am descended from JOSEPH LAMBERT and CATHERINE BACON. Joseph Lambert was born c. 1760 in the southwestern district of Scotland; old name Galloway, composed of the counties of Wigtownshire and Kirkcudbrightshire. Catherine Bacon was born ca 1780 in Ireland, most likely in Northern Ireland with its close proximity to southwest Scotland----just a matter of miles across the North Channel. There was never any Irish ascribed to the Bacons; just English. (No slight intended to the Irish; my ancestry is half Irish!) Family tradition was always adamant about Catherine being related to Sir Francis Bacon, though neither he nor brother Anthony had any children; they were sons of Sir Nicholas Bacon with his second wife Alice Cooke. So if there was a relationship it would have to have to have come from Nicholas's first marriage to Jane Fernley. Joseph and Catherine LAMBERT, along with their large family, emigrated from Edinburgh, Scotland to the U.S. in 1832, settling in Mooers Forks, Clinton County, NY. Their youngest child, Edward (1828-1919) was an early settler in Glencoe, McLeod County, NY in the mid 1860's. He married Bridget Maley and had a large family in Glencoe. Andrew LAMBERT (1807-1890), my direct ancestor (and much older brother to Edward) and wife Mary Boyer (1825-1875) moved from NY to Glencoe in 1872. They also had a very large family: Cindy LAMBERT Armstrong remained in Glencoe; Florence LAMBERT Applin and Caroline LAMBERT Spencer moved to Mpls.; and my direct ancestor Eva LAMBERT Hall Sullivan (1861-1948) lived in Stillwater. Sons were Charlie who died at the age of about 21 in Glencoe; and four other sons who all moved to Denver: John, Edmund, Julius ("June"), and Fred LAMBERT. In 1917 on a visit to Minnesota from Denver, Fred LAMBERT visited the relatives in Glencoe. At that time he copied from the family bible, the death dates for Joseph LAMBERT and wife Catherine nee Keenan, and other bible entries. I do not know if this bible was in the possession of one of Edward LAMBERT 's children, or if from the Keenans. A third branch of the Joseph LAMBERT family was James Keenan (born 1846-died 1920's) who was a nephew of brothers Edward and Andrew LAMBERT , being a son of their sister Margaret LAMBERT Keenan, born c. 1814 and married Michael Keenan; they remained in NY. James Keenan married Josephine Cummings in or near Glencoe. Their children were Melville (Mel) Keenan (1890-1968) who married Marie; and daughter Estella (Stella) Keenan (born c. 1894) who married Clarence E. Lord (1893-1986). They had children Phyllis P. Lord, born c. 1921 (married?) and son Donald P. Lord, born c. 1930. He married Eleanor and according to a 2008 Minnesota directory was living in Winona, MN. This entire LAMBERT clan is enormous, the descendants of Joseph and Catherine Lambert. I am not seeking to gather information on their descendants, so much as on the origins of Joseph Lambert and Catherine Bacon: their parents and ancestry. Any information, suggestions or surmisals will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help. Jerry Brosious Minneapolis, Minnesota P.S. I will also mention that many of the Lambert and related surnames possessed an artistic strain, mainly from painting and drawing, but also in other fields such as lithographer, photographer, dress designing (Eva LAMBERT Hall Sullivan); drama and music. I possess a large charcoal or pencil drawing of a woman and three children in a woodsy setting, with the following inscription on the back by Eva Lambert Hall Sullivan: Drawn by my father's (Andrew's) cousin and brought from Edinburgh to the U.S. in 1832. Whether the artistry stems from the LAMBERT or Bacon side, I do not know.

PELLS
My 2nd Great Grandfather and Grandmother, along with their two children migrated from the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada to McLeod, MN after 1867 and before 1870. WALDOCH
I am looking for a few things if possible. My gr-gr-grandfather Joseph WALDOCH came from Poland around 1885 with his wife Marianna (? Maiden name) and moved to Silver Lake. Per the 1895 and 1905 censuses, they had a daughter Mary (B. 1881). Is there any marriage/death records regarding her? I believe Joseph is buried in Silver Lake (Died 1906). I am also looking for his exact birthdate from his gravestone. If there is a maiden name on record for Marianna, I'd be interested in that too.

ZABEL
Trying to find information on SOMMERVILLE (name has been spelled SOMERVILLE/SOMMERVILLE/SUMMERVILLE. He was John SOMMERVILLE (Scottish immigrated in 1832) and his wife was Sophia ZABEL. They were married in October 1860 in Summit Wisconsin. I believe they moved to Minnesota in the early 1860's. They were on the state census of 1865 in Bergen. I wonder because I have seen that ZABEL surname is being looked at in this county. Is it possible there is a connection? The family left McCloud county for Nebraska in a covered wagon between 1875 and 1880. Any info will help.
